Park hours are dawn to dusk, year round.

Bridle Trails State Park is shared between pedestrian and equestrian trail enthusiasts.

It is a unique place to experience nature as you ride your horse, walk your dog, go for a run, hike with friends, or attend events.

Please make sure to follow marked trails and safety guidelines below.

Getting Here

Bridle Trails State Park is located between Kirkland and Bellevue, Washington, with its main entrance in Kirkland. The park is 489 forested acres with 28 miles of equestrian/pedestrian trails. There are three marked trail loops of varying distance, from 1 to 3.5 miles long. See the trail map below for details.

Park facilities include horse show grounds with three arenas, bleachers, and judges stand. Showgrounds include a picnic area and restrooms. There is a large parking lot with ample pull-through horse-trailer parking.

Parking

A Discover Pass is required to park in the parking lot.

The annual pass allows free parking in any State of Washington recreational land for a year and is transferable between two vehicles. Cost is $35.
Day use passes are $10.00 and available for purchase in the parking lot. Please note that pay stations at Bridle Trails State Park currently accept only cash or check as payment.
Washington State Parks has announced these FREE DAYS in 2024, when the Discover Pass will not be required to visit a state park.

Parking for Horse Trailers & Cars

Park Rules

Equestrians, hikers, runners, and leashed dogs are welcome.

To ensure a safe experience for all, please know and follow these rules:

No bicycles, one-wheels, hover boards, unicycles or motor vehicles allowed. If you encounter a bicycle or vehicle, please report it here.
Dogs must be on leash. It’s the law. Dogs off leash create a safety hazard for both humans and horses. Horses startled by dogs off leash can kick, bolt, and unseat their rider, causing significant injury to everyone involved. If you encounter someone with their dog off leash, please report it here.
Equestrians have right-of-way. Horses are large prey animals, their instinct is to flee in any scary situation. Pedestrians, including runners, encountering horses should stop, make their presence known and step to the side of the trail - but don't hide behind a tree!
No camping.
No overnight parking allowed unless approved by Park Manager.
Group runs must be coordinated in advance with the Park Manager or they are considered unauthorized and trail directions will be removed.
Pedestrians and equestrians must remain on trails.
Smoking, fires, fireworks or any kind of open flames are not allowed on the trails or in the woods.
Pack it out. Litter, including bagged dog waste, threatens the fragile ecosystem of the park and spoils everyone's experience.
